Description
The Netrunr E24 extended range Bluetooth gateway provides an easy and cost-effective path to deploy low-power wireless networks.
The Netrunr E24 gateway communicates with IoT devices over the popular Bluetooth Low Energy protocol. In a typical application scenario, the E24 gateway is configured as a Bluetooth central device. In this mode, it can maintain multiple concurrent connections with Bluetooth peripherals and run background scans for Bluetooth advertisements. It can simultaneously behave as an advertising device (or beacon), transmitting advertising information dynamically. Compared to Netrunr B24C, the Netrunr E24 has enhanced power amplifier and antenna design that provides more than 2x range. Netrunr E24 also uses a high capacity Bluetooth radio that supports more than 24 concurrent connections. Using a high number of concurrent connections may limit the use of small connection intervals (as all devices share the 1Mbps radio bandwidth). This is not an issue for scenarios where most connected devices have low data throughput. Netrunr E24 also enables additional Bluetooth 4.2 features. All application software from Netrunr B24C is compatible with Netrunr E24.
The Netrunr B24E gateway connects to the existing network (backhaul) through a Wi-Fi or LAN connection. The E24 gateway uses a cloud-centric architecture to provide an internet-level addressing capability to the gateway and all devices attached to it. This architecture enables deploying a scalable network across large sites and campuses with superior control and insight into the operations of the network. Multi-gateway deployments can use a mix of Netrunr B24C, P24C and E24 gateways to achieve cost and coverage targets.
